COMPETITION
Welcome to the HEDDA URBANI WETTBEWERB organized by the Freunde der Wiener Staatsoper. Please fill out the following form to register for the competition.
Registration is open until March 31, 2025.
Rounds of the Competition
Preliminary Round – April 2025
Participants upload two arias of their choice by March 31, 2025.
The jury will review these arias in April and inform participants by the end of April whether they are invited to the second round.
Second Round – May 31, 2025, Wiener Musikverein
Prepare five opera arias for the second round:
- One aria of your choice.
- One aria selected by the jury.
The performance will take place in front of the entire jury.
Final – June 1, 2025, Wiener Musikverein
In the final round, you will perform two arias.
The award ceremony will follow afterward.
Jury
Our jury is composed of prominent figures from the cultural sector (singers, agents, critics, musicians, directors).

Data & Results
The results of the preliminary round will be announced by the end of April at the latest.
Travel to the second round is at your own expense.

2nd Prize
€6,000 + private lessons
3rd Prize
€3,000 + private lessons
4th Prize
€2,000 – Audience Award
